Hometown Heroes Series

It’s been a crazy and tumultuous year for the Tysinger sisters. Brooke is not sure she can take much more after her sister, Abby, nearly dies in a forest fire, and her other sister, Chloe, gets kidnapped in another country while searching for their missing parents. However, her sisters’ situations ended well as they fell in love with their heroes and Brooke believes all they need to do now is find out what happened to their parents. But fate has yet another bad hand to deal as she has a near-fatal car accident one stormy night and only survives by the heroic actions of the paramedic that takes her to the hospital.

Life rarely turns out like you planned. This is a reality that Jackson has become all too familiar with in the last several years. When he left his home in Sheridan, Wyoming eight years ago and headed to California to enlist in the Navy, he could have never imagined himself in the position he finds himself in today. After spending years in the Navy, he became a flight paramedic and thought his life was perfect. He even considered proposing to his girlfriend when she announced she was pregnant. But two years later, he finds himself abandoned with his son, Gavin, without so much as a note or phone call. Juggling a demanding job and single fatherhood has become too much and he decides to return home to be near his sister and father.

After the accident, Brooke wakes up in the hospital with amnesia and is led to believe that she is in a relationship with her best friend’s brother, Jackson, the one who saved her on the night of her accident. Everyone goes along with the ruse, as the doctors said it would be better for Brooke if her memories returned on her own. But when the days turn to weeks and Brooke’s memory has not returned, a real relationship blossoms between Brooke, Jackson, and his son, and the repercussions of the lies become too great.

What are the chances that three sisters can all fall in love with their personal hometown heroes? Is it true love or just another case of hero worshipping? Can a love affair survive when it begins from a lie? Decisions have to be made for the good of everyone involved—decisions to walk away or walk toward forever.

Chloe thought she had the perfect life. A prestigious career at a museum working alongside her handsome boyfriend. An apartment in the same town as her two sisters and parents, and time to perfect her hobby of painting in her spare time. Somehow in a matter of days, everything in her life that offered her stability and contentment crashed down around her. She discovered her parents had gone missing during their latest archeology dig, and her boyfriend had been cheating on her with a colleague who had just stolen her promotion from her at work which led to her quitting her job. With nothing else to lose, Chloe decides to fly to Argentina to search for her missing parents when she stumbles across some clues about their last known whereabouts. Chloe soon discovers that she’s gotten herself in way over her head and finds herself in a desperate situation.

Marcus has been a field agent for the FBI for the last decade and he is ready to slow down and settle in one place. His current case which has had him living in Argentina for the last four months will be his last field assignment and he cannot wait to transfer to his new desk job with the agency. While the bust is a success, some unexpected complications result in him staying behind an extra week to save a girl who is in the wrong place at the wrong time. What he doesn’t realize is that those few days and that girl will change his life forever.

To say Chloe and Marcus don’t meet under the most ideal circumstances would be an understatement. It is not uncommon for feelings to surface after surviving a traumatic experience together. But is this just another case of a rescue affair or something more? Sometimes it only takes a single event to change everything. Or one person. Love can happen at the most inconvenient of times and the most unlikely of places, but it doesn’t make it any less real. Sometimes it takes a hero’s courage to show that love is worth the risk of walking into danger.

Abby just graduated with her PhD in Environmental Science and has been hired for her first real job. She is excited to receive a field study to investigate a recent tree disease affecting the local forest in Bighorn National Park in her home state of Wyoming. However, the week-long trip does not go as well as planned when a forest fire breaks out on the last day, leaving her stranded at the top of the mountain with an injured colleague.

Zach has always had an adventurous and daredevil streak his entire life and found the perfect job as a wildlife firefighter in his early twenties. He quickly moved up the ranks from being a hand crew to a hotshot to a smokejumper. For years, his motto was the riskier and more dangerous the job, the better. His life was all that he could have ever wanted with a job he loved and a girlfriend he was about to propose to, until he came home early from an assignment to find her in bed with another man.

When he gets his next assignment to rescue two campers trapped in a forest fire in the Bighorn National Forest, he sees it as a great distraction to get his mind off his personal life. Only this rescue mission doesn’t go as planned when he becomes stranded with one of the victims overnight in the middle of a burning forest.

What Zach and Abby discovered during their traumatic experience was the furthest thing from either of their minds…love. But neither believes in love at first sight and tries to convince themselves it was brought on by the life-threatening ordeal they faced together. Sometimes it only takes a single event in one’s life to change everything. Or one person. Love can happen at the most inconvenient of times and the most unlikely of places, but it doesn’t make it any less real. Sometimes it takes a hero’s courage to show that love is worth the risk of walking through fire.
