Not all love stories begin with hearts and roses. Some don’t even start with a friendship. Sometimes a relationship originates as enemies. Chase and Megan knew each other only as each other’s nemesis on the field for several years. Playing on opposing teams at their college recreational softball summer and fall leagues, their rivalry and predictable standoffs became notorious among the other players.

Chase played baseball his entire life and anticipated furthering his baseball career at Wisconsin State University until he injured his arm his senior year of high school and had to give up on all his baseball aspirations. He focused his attention on his education but enjoyed playing recreational softball at the college with friends. There was only one problem with the rec league, and her name was Megan. She was a bossy, know-it-all, that knew she was an above-average player, and Chase loved to put her in her place every chance he got.

Megan was a collegiate softball pitcher for Wisconsin State University and loved the competitive season every Spring. However, she joined several of her teammates in the summer and fall seasons playing on the school’s recreational league to stay active and maintain her skills by playing ball as much of the year as possible. The only problem with these off-season teams was dealing with annoying and immature guys. Well, one in particular, Chase, who she had come to hate as he seemed to go out of his way to argue with her at every game.

However, some say there is a fine line between love and hate. Sometimes the line becomes blurred and one starts to see that the enemy isn’t really the enemy. With time, a friendship forms between Chase and Megan based on shared beliefs and values, and the more time they spend together, the more those new lines of friendship begin to blur again into something more.

Can someone that was once your nemesis become your greatest love? Is there such a thing as a divine intervention that pulls us to our soulmates? Can true love stand the test of time and distance? And what do love and softball have in common? Come find out in this beautiful story of Chase and Megan, and see if love is like the game of softball, where we are all waiting on The Perfect Pitch.
